Navigate State Mandated Testing with Confidence

At Pinnacle Charter Schools, we’re committed to helping you succeed in state-mandated standardized tests, a key component of high school graduation. Our dedicated support and preparation resources are here to guide you every step of the way, ensuring you meet graduation requirements and achieve your academic goals.

    Civics Test Requirement

As part of the American Civics Act (House Bill 2064) enacted by the Arizona legislature in 2015, students must pass a civics test based on U.S. Immigration and Naturalization questions to graduate high school or earn a high school equivalency certificate. Here’s what you need to know:

    • Graduation Class of 2017 and Beyond: A minimum score of 60% is required on the civics test.
    • Graduation Classes of 2022 to 2025: Students must score at least 60 out of 100.
    • Graduation Class of 2026 and Beyond: New legislation requires a passing score of 70 out of 100.

To aid students in their preparation, the Arizona Department of Education, in collaboration with Maricopa County Education Service Agency and Arizona educators, has developed a user-friendly, predominantly multiple-choice version of the test. For more detailed information, refer to the Civics Test Administration Manual  (Arizona Civics Test | Arizona Department of Education (azed.gov)).
