Graduation Information
At Pinnacle Charter Schools, achieving a high school diploma marks a major academic milestone. To earn your diploma, students must complete at least twenty-two (22) high school credits in line with state guidelines.
Graduation Requirements
According to the Arizona Administrative Code R7-2-302, the State Board of Education establishes the minimum requirements for high school graduation. Pinnacle Charter Schools adheres to these statewide standards, while also offering additional opportunities to enrich the academic experience. The core requirements include:
- Four Credits of English: This encompasses English and English as a Second Language (ESL) courses.
- Three Credits in Social Studies: Including one credit of American History (with Arizona History), one credit of World History/Geography, one-half credit of American Government (with Arizona Government), and one-half credit of Economics.
- Four Credits of Mathematics: Covering Algebra 1, Geometry, Algebra 2 (or an equivalent course), and a fourth math course with high school-level content.
- Three Credits of Science: To prepare students for the statewide science assessment.
- One Credit of Fine Arts or Career and Technical Education (CTE): To ensure a diverse and well-rounded education.
- Seven Credits of Elective Courses: As specified by our local school district or charter school guidelines.
Meeting these requirements is essential for graduation from Pinnacle Charter Schools.
